Cloth Pad Review

{This post is not sponsored. All these opinions are my own and not influenced in any way by either company, and none of these links are affiliate links. Also please beware that there is a lot of “TMI” talk in here, and I do talk openly about my period- so if you don’t want to hear about blood then please move on! I have shared a few pictures that show some blood as well, all at the end of the post so no one with a weak stomach has to look if they don’t want to!}

A few months I reviewed Blushing Bluebird Essentials and LunaPads, if you want to read that review (and get some coupon codes!) read it here! I reached out to the company Party in My Pants Pads  (PiMP) and they agreed to send me two pads in exchange for an honest review of their cloth pads. Before even going in to why I love them, I just have to say, I LOVE them! According to the website there are 60+ patterns available in 13 different sizes. Sizes available are a Micro Liner, Thong Liner, Mini Liner, Demi Liner, Luxe Liner, Small Pad, Jetty Pad, Medium Pad, Large Pad, Overnight Pad, Super Pad, Super Overnight Pad, and a Queen Pad.  They are available in cotton or flannel, and you can request extra snaps for extending or tightening the pad. I was sent a Overnight Pad in a cotton print, and a Queen Pad in a flannel print.

One thing I love about the company is the website and customer service. On the website there is a chart of length and absorbency, as well as what underwear each pad works the best with. Want a pad for only the cost of shipping ($7.99 international)? Sign up as a new customer and enter the coupon code WELCOME10. I can guarantee you’ll be hooked and asking them to send you more!

Positives:

I love that there is an option for material. I prefer flannel over cotton, but there is also an option for organic material which I know many would prefer. PiMP also has the highest selection for material that I have seen from cloth pad companies, which means a lot of fun prints to pick from! I really like that they have the option for extra snaps to accommodate different body types. This is not an option I’ve seen from other companies and it is a huge positive in my eyes. I have two of the largest pad options and they are incredibly absorbent, but also so thin that you don’t really feel like you’re wearing a pad.

Negatives:

I really can’t think of a negative of these pads. They are thin but absorbent, have fun colours, a lot of different sizes.. I haven’t even leaked in one yet!

Overnight Pad:

IMG_6898I use the Overnight Pad on my second day/night of my period. It’s really good for my heaviest day, but I usually use it for my second night. I would say the size is pretty standard for a heavy pad, but it is not bulky at all and I almost forget that I’m wearing it.

Queen Pad:

To be honest when I opened this pad I thought to myself, “holy crap that’s massive!”. I have a big problem with leaking at night, whether it be cloth or a disposable pad. I askedIMG_6899 to be sent the Queen Pad to see if there was something that could hold everything on my heaviest night and I was not disappointed! Comparing this pad to the largest disposable pad I would have to say they’re the same size, so I really don’t know why I was surprised at the size of the Queen Pad. It is large, but it is perfect for what I need and it’s my favourite overnight pad. I usually use this on my first heavy night and the Overnight Pad on my second heavy night, and I haven’t leaked once.

Absorbency:

5/5. As I have mentioned above I have not had any issues with leaking so far, and I have left these pads on for up to 10 hours on my heaviest days!

Comfort:

5/5. The bottom side to the pads is a nylon material and when you’re holding it it feels fairly slippery. I thought that meant the pad would move around in my underwear, however it is the opposite. The additional snaps you can get added make sure that the pad is snug to your underwear and doesn’t move at all. Both the cotton and the flannel are soft and breathable against the skin, and I haven’t had any issues at all with pilling on the flannel. Both pads are very absorbent but not thick enough that you feel like you’re wearing a huge pad.

Aesthetic:

5/5. I truly can’t say it enough that there are so many cute prints! On the site you can pick which material and which print you would like. It also shows which prints are new. I find that with prints on the pads it’s more likely to hide any stains, although I haven’t had any issues with staining so far.

Value:

5/5. PiMP have the cheapest pads I’ve been able to find so far. Though they are priced less than others I find that the quality is the same as the others I have tried. You definitely get a deal with these, and they have many different bundle options on their website that help you save even more. (And did I option the free liner, yet?!)

Overall Thoughts:

I absolutely love these pads, and this company. They have been so great to communicate with (and incredibly patient as they wait for this review 😉 ), the website has a ton of information (even a calculator to tell you how much you’ll save by using cloth pads!) and is easy to navigate. The pads wash well and have held up well so far, the colours haven’t faded at all. I really am very happy with these pads and can’t wait to order some more!

Please head on over to my last review to read all the questions answered that you may have about cloth pads in general! If you’d me to answer any other questions and add them please feel free to comment or send me an email.
